New York Stillness
New York is a city that rarely allows stillness.
These photographs were made at its fringes, away from the spectacle and momentum of its centre.
I went looking for quiet: in overlooked spaces, solitary figures and the brief pauses between one thing and the next.
Peace was never quite a place. It appeared in fragments, then disappeared.
Made during a workshop with Matt Black.
